In this episode, we’re talking to champion Canadian Paralympian Katarina Roxon! She took home gold in the 100 metre breaststroke at the 2016 Olympic Games.
Katarina was born with a rare condition called Amniotic Band Syndrome, which left her left arm severed below the elbow. She has never let that slow her down though, in fact, she is one of the world’s fastest women in the pool. She has become a Canadian hero, being officially named Newfoundland and Labrador’s Community hero!
Katarina told us what it was like being coached by her dad and taking some time off of training to work on coaching and helping her family with their business. Now she is back in the pool trying to defend her gold medal in 2021, which she thinks will be the most memorable Paralympic games of all time!
