Brian MacPherson is the CEO of Commonwealth Sport Canada and a leader in the non-profit sports organization world.
He joins us to talk about his role and the impact COVID-19 had on Commonwealth Sport. Since the Games are not set to take place until 2022, the impact has not been devastating, but still quite a challenge to deal with.
Brian talked about gaining sponsors and he explained the difference between sponsorship and fundraising. We discussed what really sets Canada apart in the sports industry. Brian brought up an interesting point when he mentioned how Canada is winning medals despite not putting in as much money in sports as other countries.
