Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty

Winning Time is a controversial mini-series TV show about the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1980s. Max Borenstein and Jim Hecht's HBO sports drama series Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty is based on Jeff Pearlman's book Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s. The Los Angeles Lakers basketball team's 1980s Showtime era (starting in late 1979), which is covered in the first season's 10 episodes, features renowned NBA players Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. John C. Reilly, Jason Clarke, Jason Segel, Gaby Hoffmann, Rob Morgan, and Adrien Brody are among the ensemble cast members. Adam McKay directed the pilot episode, which aired on March 6 of 2022. The show's second season was ordered in April 2022.
